Ability to Customise Sounds

I'm wondering if it would be possible to implement a feature that would allow users to restrict the sounds on The Zone to only those that they want. For example, I keep sounds on for alerts of private messages, mail and to know when someone's responded to a topic to which I've subscribed. But I don't need to hear every time someone sends a quick note or logs into Zone By Phone. Personally, I find it a bit annoying most of the time, unless it's very quiet i.e. not alot of users on and I'm viewing quick notes. So would this feature be easy or difficult to create?

if you filter out said stuff you won't get the sounds. like i have zbp filtered, never hear if someone goes on it

And I recently discovered you can filter out log in and log out quicknotes. Frees up the clutter.

it's easy to filter certain sounds.

Simply go to the quicknote box and type

/j qnfilter

To post 5, I just have to say that was pretty rude; lots of people, regardless of what kind of education they had ask questions that might seem ovbvious to other people. I even forgot we had the ability to filter Quicknotes. And to post 6, thanks for refreshing mine and other's memories on how to do that. Now what would be cool is if we could know who was logging in and out without having Public Quicknotes on. *smile* I realize there is a listing of who's online that you can go to, but it would be cool to be able to choose to have the sounds play for that in Private Quicknotes the way you can for Publics.

And you are fail in da English. If you're going to insult me for simply not knowing how to do something,, and particularly if you choose to bring up my education, at least check your own grammar and spelling. After all, that includes research, which you seem to advocate, and since I'm not allowed to claim ignorance in something that's not my strong point, neither are you. I've never, at any time, claimed to be an expert in computers. My BA is in Sociology and the certificate that I later earned is in teaching English as a Second Language. I fail to see how asking a question on how to do something lowers my intelligence level, but I shall remember that the next time you ask something for a quick sollution or without knowledge. Perhaps, jumping down people's throats is a new way of showing respect. Oh, and my BA, and 4.0 gpa, if you must know, comes from St. Peter's College, Jersey City, NJ. My TESL/TESOL certificate comes from Oxford Seminars held in Rutgers University, Newark, NJ. Thank you, kool_turk, for your civility and for your answer and thank you GemiMoonTwinkleStar for your kindness and explanation of how to treat others. Your suggestion is also a good one.

I'm all for freedom of speech, but Season, that was a bit over the top. She was asking a question. I surely hope you can acquire a bit of patience if you ever want to become a computer technition.

Tiffanitsa, I agree that there should be a way to filter the sounds without filtering the messages as well. Forgive me if this is already an option.

Thanks OceanDream. *smile* I actually tried both suggestions here and didn't see anything for just filtering sounds, as you said. As it stands, the only way to stop certain sounds is to stop the messages themselves. I'm using Firefox with NVDA, so perhaps there was a check box or radio button that it didn't read.
